Classic Margherita Pizza recipe

This classic pizza is an absolute staple, but don’t feel you need to stick to this tried and tested gem. Use this recipe as a foundation to add all the veggies, sauces (and veggie sausages?!) your heart desires!

You will need:

  • 1 portion of dough, or a premade vegan pizza base
  • ¼ cup tomato-based pizza sauce
  • 4 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 40g plant-based mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
To garnish
  • 1 stem basil, leaves picked

Directions:

  • 1Preheat your oven, and a pizza stone if you have one, to 250°C (or the hottest temperature it will reach)
  • 2Use a ladle to spread tomato paste evenly over your pizza base.
  • 3Top with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and a drizzle over the extra virgin olive oil.
  • 4Place the pizza onto a hot pizza stone and cook for 10 minutes (or shorter time if oven is over 250°C).
  • 5Garnish with basil leaves, slice up, and serve!
